Dear readers and contributors,
Voice & Virtue is thrilled to announce the theme for our inaugural issue: "Sacred Hearth: The Holy Family and Divine Love." This first edition of our literary journal embarks on a profound exploration of God's love as manifested in the Holy Family, examining how this model can guide and strengthen all modern families. We want to highlight the meaning of family and the important role it should play in our country and our world.
The Theme
At the heart of our first issue lies in Genesis 18:19 (ESV):
"For I have chosen him, that he may command his children and his household after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing righteousness and justice, so that the Lord may bring to Abraham what he has promised him."
Since the beginning, God has used families as a place of instruction, growth, and saving grace. From Abraham's family, where He first chose a people for His own, to the Holy Family, where He entrusted His only Son to be raised and cared for, to the families we each call our own, the family has always been of utmost importance in God's plan.
As we approach the Advent season, a time of anticipation and reflection, we invite our contributors and readers to delve deep into the concept of divine love and its transformative power in family life. We aim to explore how the Holy Family serves as an enduring example of love, sacrifice, and unity—qualities that are desperately needed in our rapidly changing world.

Our Vision's Thematic Connection
At Voice & Virtue, we believe in the power of words to inspire faith, uphold tradition, and illuminate truth. "Sacred Hearth" is more than just a theme; it's a call to recognize the family as the fundamental unit of society and a bulwark against cultural decay. We believe that by studying and emulating the Holy Family, we can strengthen our own families and, by extension, our communities.
Our mission is to provide a platform for writers and artists whose work reflects the richness of Christian thought and experience. With this inaugural issue, we seek submissions that engage with faith, explore moral questions, and celebrate the beauty of creation, all through the lens of the Holy Family and divine love.
